The program provides an opportunity for Bond University students seeking a tailored rugby experience which enables them to adjust their study timetable at diploma, bachelor or postgraduate level to concentrate on an intensive rugby skill development program. This program has both a XVs and 7’s skills focus and runs in concert with the Bond University Rugby Club programs.

Playing Rugby on the Gold Coast

Playing rugby on the Gold Coast offers a unique opportunity to play rugby at any level. The program will provide you with a Club that is going to suit your level.

Bond University Rugby Club

Bond University Rugby Club plays in the Brisbane Premier competition which is arguably the toughest club competition in Australia. Bond University Rugby Club has four teams:

  • Premier Grade
  • Premier Reserve
  • Premier Colts (U19)
  • Colts 1
  • Men’s Rugby 7s competing in local and interstate tournaments
  • Women’s Rugby 7s competing in local, interstate and the national AON University 7s Series providing our women a direct pathway to national selection

Gold Coast District Rugby Union competition offers eight different clubs:

  • 1st grade
  • 2nd grade
  • 3rd grade
  • Over 35’s
  • Women’s 7’s and 15’s

    • Under 19
    • Seniors
  • Super XV – Queensland Reds
  • Australia U / 20 – Queensland Reds U / 20
  • Premier Colts and Premier Grade
  • Australian National Women’s Rugby 7s
  • Bond University Women’s Aon Rugby 7s

International students

The Bond University Rugbytek program is available to overseas students to develop their rugby skills whilst they study in Australia. All international students must be enrolled at Bond University to take part in the program.

Accommodation

All international students are responsible for their accommodation and living costs whilst attending the Academy. For more information about Bond University on-campus accommodation, please visit our website at bond.edu.au/accommodation.

Travel

Bond University and Rugbytek will not be responsible for travel to and from Australia. You will be responsible for your travel costs and will need to meet the requirements set out in your Student Visa.

The Gold Coast has a very safe, efficient and cost effective public transport system which is convenient to reach Bond University.
