Dr Manny Pohl is the Chairman and CIO of investment house EC Pohl & Co which he founded in June 2012. EC Pohl & Co is an investment manager that specialises in identifying and investing in quality listed Australian companies.

Dr Pohl has more than thirty years of experience in the investment industry, including over a decade as Managing Director of Hyperion Asset Management which he established in 1998. Emigrating from South Africa in 1994 he was a member of the South African delegation to the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Bangkok. 

Dr Pohl holds a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) Degree and Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Witwatersrand, as well as a Doctorate in Business Administration (Economics) from Potchefstroom University. He has also been heavily involved in the community sector, particularly with health, environment and arts philanthropic organisations. He was a member of the Mater Research Foundation and the Great Barrier Reef Research Foundation, and was formerly a member of the prestigious, invitation only, Art Gallery of New South Wales President’s Council.

Along with being the President of the Bond University Rugby Board, Dr Pohl is also a member of the Bond University Council.

Terry Jackman is an iconic name in the cinema world having founded Pacific Cinemas after many years as CEO of Hoyts Theatre’s and Birch, Carroll & Coyle. He has proven business acumen and is an influencer in sport, tourism and media.

Terry has also helped many charities in his time and was honoured to receive a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2003.

Terry is  Benefactor to our Bond University Rugby’s John Eales Scholarship and has said that,  “The overarching aim of the scholarship is to prepare the boys for success on and off the rugby field.  I have always been passionate about rugby, education and leadership so I’m proud to support a scholarship that offers unparalleled opportunities in sport, and an internationally recognised degree enhanced by Bond’s global networks, industry connections and work experience opportunities."

Mr Bryan Hain is the Director of Sport and Activities at The Southport School (TSS) on the Gold Coast where he has been for the past 19 years.  Mr Hain’s previous positions include Physical Education Teacher at the South Island School in Hong Kong and Director of Coaching with the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union. 

Mr Hain holds a MSc Master’s Degree, Sports Management from the University of Leicester and Bachelor of Education (BEd) Hons, Physical Education from St Paul’s College, Cheltenham. 

Catherine Marks joined Bond University as the inaugural Vice President of Engagement, a role to further develop Bond’s reputation and profile. Catherine has over 25 years of experience in leading advancement and engagement functions, and award winning activity in UK Higher Education, including at the University of Edinburgh, the University of South Wales and more recently as Director for Global Advancement at Swansea University.

Catherine is a trained Economist and holds a Masters in International Marketing from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has held positions and board memberships with police forces, the Audit Commission, within the global HE sector and with Welsh Rugby. Catherine and her family have settled on the Gold Coast to continue their love and enthusiasm for the outdoors on land and on the water. Catherine was previously a Senior Crew member of her local lifeboat station in Wales, conducting search and rescue operations in some of the most challenging waters in the UK.
